Two more seniors, Red and Roberts have their say
Two more area senior student-athletes take to the Sports Spotlight here.
The first of those two is Bozeman baseball player Charlie Red.
He really feels the pain of the truncated season writing "My team is my family! We were 10-0 on the season when Covid19 cancelled baseball, and I believe we were going to not only make the State playoffs again this year, but that we would win it all!"
As for what he loves most about his game, he writes "Baseball is a complicated sport that includes working together as a team and performing well as an individual. Baseball is learning how to work together as a team to overcome your opponent's strengths and your own team's weaknesses." Charlie adds he loves every aspect of the game, "especially how you can be losing up to the last inning and then work together to come back and win it all, and our team has the heart and has done that many times."
Next the Spotlight shines on South Walton baseball player Drake Roberts.
He writes "I love just hanging with the boys and the competitive nature of the game. I love the satisfaction of throwing out someone who thinks he can steal on me. I enjoy the grind that baseball requires in order to become the best at your game."
As for his senior season being cut like it was, he writes "this unexpected ending to our season because of COVID-19 has been tough. We did not get to celebrate the end of a decade of Roberts boys playing on that field. We did not get a Senior Night celebration with my family and friends."
And he adds "It's been an honor to be a Seahawk and represent my school for the last four years as starting catcher." Drake will play on at Lindenwood University!
