Job Summary:
WJHG-TV/WECP-TV, The NBC and CBS affiliate for the Panama City, Florida market, is looking for a Weekend Anchor/MMJ to join our award-winning news team. We are looking for a dynamic news professional who excels with high expectations, passion, and dedication. Candidates must have prior professional experience reporting, producing, writing, shooting and editing. Professional experience anchoring is preferred but not required. Strong social/digital media skills, and solid live reporting skills are a must. This is not a job for “readers”. We need someone with excellent time-management skills, who can also produce the weekend news. This person must be able to contribute on all platforms. This is a great opportunity for a journalist looking for an entry-level anchoring position, who has strong work ethic and ability to be a team leader.

General Responsibilities
-Producing and Anchoring weekend news.
-Reporting as MMJ three days a week, and assisting with reporting as necessary on weekends.
-A leader who can oversee weekend content and report to Management with any issues.
-Ability to shoot, write, edit all work, and operate live TVU equipment solo.
-Working flexible hours and days, and willingness to fill in on other shifts as needed.
-Taking direction and learning under guidance of News Management...
-Enterprising story ideas and covering a variety of assignments.
-Performing any duties necessary to assist the newsroom as assigned by Management.

Qualifications:
-A BA/BS degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field is required for this position.
-Prior professional experience reporting, producing, writing, or shooting news is preferred.
-Strong professional social media skills.
-A valid driver's license and good driving record.
