Northwest Florida syndicated sports talk radio show host has been sentenced to prison for ripping-off investors.
Okaloosa County Circuit Judge Thomas Remington sentenced Charles "Scott" McKinney to 5-years in prison Tuesday. He also ordered McKinney to pay nearly 190-thousand dollars in restitution.
Last month McKinney pled guilty to a number of theft and fraud charges for stealing thousands of dollars from investors.
McKinney convinced them he was going to syndicate his radio program nationally, but sold more than double the number of investment shares than existed.
He reportedly told investors he needed money to buy broadcast equipment, but ended up spending the money on himself.
