PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Bay County Public Library is hosting their annual BooksALIVE event this week.

Readers, writers and media fanatics from all over the country travel to Bay County each year to enjoy the once a year celebration.

Friday, Annie Quinn, Mary McDonough, and Ellen Urbani, spoke to their audience about their books at the Panama City Center For The Arts.

Urbani, who grew up in the south, has been on tour all year after publishing her novel, "Landfill," which is a work of fiction that tells the story of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

"I think it's particularly interesting and fun for me to give back to the communities in the south were I grew up," said Urbani. "Especially where that book is set and move through the south a talk to people who are affected by what happened that I've documented in the book."
