Brush Fire by Beach Scene

PANAMA CITY BEACH- A brush fire caused quite an alarming scene Tuesday night in Panama City Beach.

Panama City Beach Police and Fire Rescue were called in response to a small brush fire in the wooded area near Beach Scene on Hutchison Boulevard just after 11:00 p.m. Tuesday night.

When fire crews arrived they said the fire was active and steadily growing. In order to get through, officials said they had to bring in portable brush trucks that contain only 300 gallons of water each.

R. Jackson Boulevard between middle and front beach was temporarily shut down while crews fought the blaze. Small hot spots from that fire continued to flare up well past midnight.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
