PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The sister of legendary Beatle John Lennon spoke at the Panama City Beach Public Library Tuesday afternoon.

In 2006, Julia Baird, who is Lennon's half sister and shares the same mother, wrote the book "Imagine This: Growing Up With My Brother John Lennon."

The book made its way to the United States in 2008.

Dozens gathered to hear Baird speak about her book.

She said it took her two years to write and the purpose of writing it was to set the record straight about her brother and their family.

"Cathartic is the immediate word that comes to mind," said Baird. "It was also a lot of hard work because I had to make sure that I got it right and there were things that I was almost sure of but not completely so I left them out because I didn't want to anything to be questioned in the book."

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the U.S.A. Beatles tour, the Mersey Beatles, a tribute band from Liverpool performed at the Martin Theater Tuesday night.
