WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - UPDATE: May 22, 10:00 p.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports the vehicle and driver involved in an alleged fatal hit and run crash on Saturday morning in Miramar Beach has been found.
At this time State Troopers say the driver is cooperating with their investigation.
They have not yet identified the driver or the type of vehicle involve din the crash.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, one person is dead after a hit and run.
Officials say they believe the pedestrian, 24 year-old Ryan Gregory Slowik, was hit by a vehicle sometime early Saturday morning on Highway 98 in Miramar beach near the Okaloosa/Walton County line.
A suitcase and hat were found at the scene.
As of now this is an ongoing investigation, who hit Slowik is something Florida Highway Patrol is trying to piece together.
Corporal Michael Collins of Florida Highway Patrol said, "We're looking for a grey sedan that's missing a left side mirror and possibly fragments of the body."
The Florida Highway Patrol released more information about the car they are searching for. It is a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, with a dark grey metallic color. Investigators say the car should have a missing driver-side mirror and front end damage consistent with a pedestrian collision.
