Walton County is Looking for an Animal Control Impersonator

PONCE DE LEON -- The Walton County Sheriff's Office needs your help in finding a man pretending to be an animal control officer.

Police say on March 28, around 2:30 in the afternoon, a black male in his 40's, about 6'2", with a heavy set build, tried to enter a residents home in Ponce de Leon saying he worked for animal control and received a complaint.

The homeowner said the man was very pushy, and when they told the impersonator they planned to call the police, he left the home in a hurry in a beat-up, unmarked white truck.

Police say the man had a scruffy beard and was wearing a green shirt that had "animal control" printed on it.

The Walton County Sheriff's office says they'll always drive vehicles that are properly marked and/or wear uniforms that properly identifies them as a member of the agency.
