PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Graduation season is here and Tuesday morning West Bay Elementary School introduced their first promoted class since reopening

Parents, Bay District School Board Members, including Superintendent Bill Husfelt and Chairman Steve Moss, as well as school personnel honored their first fifth grade class to be promoted to middle school since West Bay revived its school and reopened at the beginning of this school year.

"I just want them to be themselves and be all that they can be and to just be great kids and achieve great things as they move through their education," says West Bay Principal John Cannon.

After the ceremony, students and family enjoyed refreshments and reminisced of their time well spent.

Each student was presented a medallion for their accomplishment and wished a fond farewell as they go to embark on the next leg of their academic journey.
