A free youth mental health conference in Madison on Saturday will bring together young people, families and mental health professionals to discuss challenges facing Black, Indigenous and other youth of color.
A single mother of three is facing the fight of her life after doctors diagnosed her with Stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer that has spread to her brain.
Kandis Hall, who worked three jobs to support her children before falling ill, said she was stunned when doctors delivered the news after she was hospitalized for a week.
“At first I bust out crying. It was such a shock because I’ve never smoked a day in my life,” Hall said. “It’s still unbelievable. I still don’t believe it.”
