PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Oaks by the Bay Park in downtown was filled with jazz and good vibes during part of Columbus Day Weekend for the 16th annual Jazz by the Festival.
The two-day event featured six regional bands, including one from Jacksonville.
The event is organized by the Gulf Jazz Society and officials said more than 1,000 jazz fans came out Friday and Saturday for the festivities.
Bob Borich, one of the founders of the Gulf Jazz Society explained, "It's just been a great weekend, the weather is beautiful and of course the setting is just gorgeous at Under the Oaks. You couldn't ask for a nicer afternoon and a more pleasant way to spend a day."
The Jazz by the Bay Festival started in 2001 and every year it has been a free event that is open to the public.
