19-year-old charged after high speed chase

SNEADS, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A 19-year-old from Blountstown is facing charges after leading police officers on a chase Tuesday.

According to the Sneads Police Department, a officer saw Travis Deloach speeding Eastbound on Old Spanish Trail. Officers tried to pull him over but he drove faster away from them.

Deloach failed to yield at several different stop signs, nearly causing multiple traffic crashes and forcing drivers off the roadway.

He then suddenly turned back East onto Old Spanish Trail and entered the school zone at speeds exceeding 100 MPH. Several students and staff at Sneads High School were walking near the roadway as the vehicle passed through the school zone.

The vehicle eventually came to a stop at the intersection of Old Spanish Trail and Legion Road. Deloach was then arrested without further incident.

He is charged with aggravated fleeing and attempt to elude law enforcement.
