Alaqua Animal Refuge approved for new development

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Alaqua Animal Refuge will soon be bigger and better.

For the past two years, Alaqua has been working on plans to expand and build a larger facility, and Tuesday, Walton County Commission approved the plans for Alaqua's new development.

The 97 acre refuge will feature a medical clinic, various cottages to hold their many rescues, as well as a restaurant.
