BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Parker Elementary School kids are learning about future careers from Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody.

Friday, Moody read to a second grade class.

She also told the kids that they can do any career they want- no matter who they are or where they are from.

It's all part of the “Teach a Girl to Lead” civic education program, where women leaders read to children.

Moody said she wanted to make sure she came to Bay County when she heard about the program.

"They've gone through so much in the last years and I just wanted make sure we highlighted not only Teach a Girl to Lead and what that means. Be among our future generation of leaders, but also talk about the meaning of Martin Luther King Jr.'s life,” Moody said.

Moody also announced her appointment to the commission on the status of women will be Anne Corcoran.
