Bay County Chamber of Commerce members get one-on -one help at their recovery workshop

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Bay County Chamber of Commerce held their monthly First Friday event with a little different format

After a shortened version of their normal order of business they held a convenient one-stop-shop for business owners to learn how organizations like FEMA , SBA and Small Business Development Council can help them.

Representatives from those organizations along with CareerSource Gulf Coast and Florida Department of Economic Opportunity had booths set up at the event where business owners had the opportunity to speak one-on-one with the representatives and get valuable information regarding recovery strategies and financial assistance.

Michael Myhre from Florida SBDC had this to say about their programs. "The original application period or deadline for the Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge loan was actually December 7th. But Governor Scott yesterday extended the Emergency Order the Executive Order of Hurricane Michael which has allowed us to extend the period or application period for the Emergency Bridge Loan Program for Small Businesses."

Governor Scott's extension of the Executive Emergency Order on Thursday will allow the SBDC'S program to accept applications for another sixty days.
