BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Bay County Fire Department will soon see construction of a new facility coming to Michigan Avenue.
A cement slab currently sits on what was once the sight of the firehouse that was destroyed by Hurricane Michael.
This week Bay County commissioners approved more than $190,000 to go to the construction of a new project.
While the new building won't be a full-fledged firehouse, it will be able to house a fire truck, restroom, and some equipment storage for firefighters.
There is currently no start date scheduled for construction.
