BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Bay County Republicans gathered at Captain Anderson's restaurant Tuesday night to watch the election results roll in.
While eyes were glued to TVs for race results, some voters were also focused on the amendments on the ballot.
After speaking to the chair of the Bay County Republican Executive Committee, he said Republicans were split on the amendments, however, Republicans who supported Amendment One, increasing the homestead tax exemption, also had strong feelings for Two through Four.
Those being limiting property taxes, voter control of gambling, and restoring felon voter rights.
He also said despite the hurricane, voter turnout was impressive.
"We exceeded the 2014 vote both in numbers and a percentage of the vote and it all came in solidly for the entire Republican ticket at 70 percent higher," Chairman James Waterstradt said.
State Senator George Gainer and CFO Jimmy Patronis were both in attendance at the Republican Headquarters' event Tuesday night.
