BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - After months of trying to come to an agreement, Bay District Schools' health plan is finalized.
The district, PanCare, the Florida Department of Health in Bay County, and the School Health Advisory Committee, or SHAC, all came to the table to map out the plan.
The 25-page plan is broken down into three parts: Basic School Health Services, Comprehensive School Health Services, and Health Services for Full Service Schools.
The plan also includes education for students, such as puberty courses.
"Any student that has a health care plan or any student that is taking medication, first aid, whatever, there's a partnership with the Health Department, PanCare, and Bay District Schools to make sure that every student is taken care of," Denise Kelley, Assistant Superintendent of Bay District Schools, said.
The finalized plan has been submitted to the state and is set until the latter half of 2020.
