BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Parents whose children attend Bay District Schools can rest assured their students' bellies will be filled while at school.

On Thursday, the district announced it will continue its free breakfast and lunch programs for the 2020-2021 school year.

Parents will not have to fill out any forms or enroll in the program - it is open to everyone.

District officials say they have seen participation increase over the course of the program's existence.

Deputy Superintendent Sandra Davis said it should alleviate an added burden on parents as they continue to recover from Hurricane Michael.

"Being able to send their child off to school on the school bus and not have to worry that they're going to have something to eat. They will have breakfast and they will have lunch and that's a worry that parents will not have to have," Davis said.
