BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Help is wanted throughout the Panhandle since Hurricane Michael, and hospitals are no exception.
According to Heath Evans, President of Bay Medical Sacred Heart, the hospital has 70 positions posted.
In the future, the hospital plans on hiring about 300 more people.
This announcement comes as the hospital is reopening more patient care units in the hospital's south tower, according to Mike Burke, Marketing and Communications Manager of Sacred Heart Health System-Ascension.
"Bay Medical Center has a need to bring good clinicians and nurses back. We also plan as we bring 144 more beds in our second phase of recovery back online later this year to have 300 or so new positions available," Evans explained.
In December, we learned the hospital had to lay off employees. Since then, the hospital has been reopening in phases.
