PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Adults could soon be enjoying a cold beer or glass of wine at the Panama City Beach Sports Complex.

Officials said they hope to finalize negotiations in the near future with the sports park's management company and an alcohol vendor.

They hope to add beer and wine to the complex's concessions.

"We have not finalized those negotiations yet but we hope to in the near future, so that when it's appropriate to sell alcohol at the sports park, specifically beer and wine, they'll be able to do so," Tourist Development Council Executive Director Dan Rowe said.

The sports complex's new general manager, Jamie Cox, said he will be focusing on the quality of food and beverage offered during the first few months he begins working.

"My company is pushing for that at the ballpark. That's another opportunity for extra revenue and an attraction to bring in other special events, adult events, at the ballpark. As they work through that process, having the potential to sell alcohol for certain events is definitely an added bonus," Cox said.

Cox starts work on March 9.
