PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Bill Byrd Kia was hit hard during Hurricane Michael but officials say they're rebuilding better and stronger.
The dealership is open for business but they're also working on constructing a new facility on the property.
Owner Don Donohoe says they had a plan in place before the storm to construct a new facility with a company out of Dothan, Alabama.
That company also helped clear the debris and get the reconstruction started.
He also says he's gotten tremendous help from the county, saying, "I've been in touch with Mr. Tommy Ford here and we made a commitment together and he said, 'Don't run, we'll make Bay County stronger than it ever was,' and that's what we're doing."
He says there isn't a timetable just yet for when the facilities will open as it depends on funding.
