The drama department held a workshop hosted by Broadway star Gavin Lee at the Gretchen Nelson Scott Fine Arts Center in Lynn Haven. Lee brought his talents to shows like Mary Poppins and was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance in Spongebob Squarepants: The musical.

During the workshop, he taught kids a dance and musical number from the Spongebob show.

Both students and instructors say they are excited to have a little Broadway in Bay County.

"There's just so much left to improve on. Even if you think you're a senior and you're at the top of your game, there's always somewhere to improve. It's really amazing getting those tips and build my theatrical experience," said President of the Mosley High School Drama Club Lauren Patterson.

"It's such a buzz for me to be able to come and give back all I've learned over my many years at the West End in London and on Broadway. Hopefully, it'll give these kids insight into what a Broadway show is like. They're already excited to be a part of the drama department here and it just broadens their horizons even more," said Lee.

Lee will hold another workshop Saturday afternoon.
