PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Housing continues to be a main struggle for Panama City residents still recovering from Hurricane Michael.

In an effort to help connect those residents to resources, the city, Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, and others held a Community Outreach Resources Education (CORE) Fair at the Glenwood Community Center Thursday.

"It's a whole bunch of services in there," said local storm victim Andrea Adams. "All of them, but really the Boys and Girls Club, that's good. Y'all got a lot of services in there that are very good."

Event organizers say one of those services allows storm victims to buy FEMA trailers.

DJJ officials say the event is about uplifting storm victims in the community and providing them with more ways to solve their problems.

"We came to recognize families," said Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Office of Prevention Services Assistant Secretary Alice Sims. "Families that have been instrumental in overcoming challenges. Families who are doing well. Young people who are excelling in schools."
