WASHINGTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A Winter Park man is behind bars after authorities say he lead them on a car chase spanning three counties Sunday.

Authorities say the car chase started in Walton County on Interstate 10. The chase went through Holmes and Washington County, where the vehicle got off I-10 in Chipley.

Washington County Sheriff's Deputies chased the vehicle down Highway 77, where the suspect hit a deputy's patrol vehicle, then a home.

Deputies arrested George Santiago, 24. The initial pursuit began when Walton County Sheriff's Deputies tried to pull Santiago over for driving a stolen vehicle.

Santiago was booked in the Washington County Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding law enforcement and operating a motor vehicle without a license. He is also charged with fleeing and eluding at a high rate of speed and grand theft of a motor vehicle out of Walton County, and fleeing and eluding law enforcement in Holmes County.
