PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A Panama City Beach road will soon get some much needed repairs.
Crews are prepping the area on Thomas Drive between Joan Avenue and Bristol Street to fix storm water drainage leaks responsible for some recent pot holes.
According to Bay County Public Works, the area is being surveyed with robotic cameras to find and fix leaks. After those issues are fixed, the area will also be resurfaced.
"Instead of just going out and resurface the roadway, we're going to go out there and fix the utilities first. And then, we're going to fix the roadway that way we won't have this problem in eight or nine years. We're going to have a roadway that lasts for many years," said Keith Bryant, who is the director of Bay County Public Works.
Bryant said the county is working with the City of Panama City Beach to resolve the utilities issues causing problems on the roads.
