PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The drawdown of the Deer Point Reservoir officially came to a close Sunday.
The drawdown was originally supposed to end in February but was extended another month due to flooding issues caused by Hurricane Michael.
The drawdown is meant to help improve the wildlife habitat and reduce unwanted vegetation.
Officials say the results of the drawdown won't be known for months.
Because of this year's warmer winter, they said the success rate for this year's drawdown could be lower than they had hoped.
