PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Plans are now underway for Panama City's long-term recovery, and Downtown is going to see some of the progress on its street.
Business and property owners at the Downtown Improvement Board meeting say they're excited about the city's plans.
This will help the DIB fulfill its streetscape idea.
There will be narrower roads, large sidewalk and the area will be more pedestrian-friendly with more outdoor seating.
"We expect all of these things through our downtowns streetscape project, shade trees. So we're really excited about the plan from Dover-Cole partners," said Catherine Shores, a property owner Downtown.
The plans will also include improving the stormwater by installing a duct system to catch the water and more gathering spaces along Downtown.
