PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP)- The Panama City Police Department and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is partnering together for the national campaign Drive Sober of Get Pulled Over.

The Panama City Police Department will show no tolerance for drunk driving during the campaign that runs from August 14th until September 2nd.

There will be an increase in road signs warning of drunk driving dangers, as well as an increase in officers on the road.

The Panama City Police Department wants to remind everyone that it is never acceptable to drink and drive, even if you have had one alcoholic beverage. They urge everyone to designate a sober driver or use a ride sharing service to get home safely.

If you have a friend who is planning on drinking and driving, the Panama City Police Department says to take their keys and arrange a safe way for them to get home.

If you see a drunk driver, report them to the Panama City Police Department or your local law enforcement agency.
