LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - FEMA is granting $1.6 million to Lynn Haven as part of its Public Assistance Program following Hurricane Michael.

This money will reimburse the city for the protective measures it took during the storm, which included providing sandbags, search and rescue efforts, emergency medical care, firefighting, pumping, placing barricades and clearing debris.

FEMA says this covers half of the costs the city incurred. The second half will be awarded after all proper documentation is turned in. The total project cost is more than $3 million.
