FHP: Fountain man faces felony charges following pursuit

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - According to Florida Highway Patrol, a Fountain man is facing multiple charges after leading a trooper on a pursuit Sunday.

Officials said at about 4:22 p.m., a trooper was traveling behind a Toyota Sedan, driven by Rayford Goodwin, 35, on County Road 2321. The trooper reportedly saw the driver travel in the opposite lane to pass multiple vehicles twice.

The trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but officials said the driver fled.

During the chase, Goodwin reportedly made several turns and caused a minor crash with another vehicle.

Officials said the trooper was able to perform a P.I.T. maneuver on the vehicle on Resota Beach Road.

Goodwin was taken to the hospital and was then booked into the Bay County Jail on the following charges:
1. Fleeing Attempted to Elude (Felony)
2. Driving on Suspend License (Felony)
3. Leaving the Scene of Accident(Misdemeanor)
4. Driving Under the Influence(Misdemeanor)
5. Reckless Driving(Misdemeanor)
