OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A Destin man is facing felony hit and run charges after troopers said he hit a pedestrian in November.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, Dermeteres Robinson of Destin was arrested following a hit and run in Okaloosa County November 29th.
A trooper made contact with Robinson on November 30th.
Officials said Robinson confessed to the accident and said he was driving his Range Rover when it hit a pedestrian on U.S. Highway 98 just over the Brooks Bridge.
Troopers said the evidence on his vehicle was consistent with the accident involving the pedestrian.
He was arrested and taken into custody for felony hit and run causing serious bodily injury and failing to report a traffic accident.
The pedestrian was also charged with walking on public road while entering into the path of a moving vehicle.
