The first STEAM high school in Walton County will open at the St. Joe Company headquarters this December. (WJHG/WECP)

The school will be located at the current St. Joe company headquarters - just off of Highway 98 on Watersound Parkway.

It's called the Magnet Innovation Center at St. Joe Watersound.

Forty high school students will start in December.

And for the first few months they will start their day at South Walton High School and end at the new school's campus.

The students say they are excited for their new facility.

"It's a fantastic opportunity, I can't believe that, just as a student in South Walton high school, when I found out about this my jaw dropped, and I was like 'I'm doing that,'” said Alyssa Sutton, sophomore STEAM student.

The St. Joe Community Foundation also donated more than $200,000 to the new school.
