PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The 23rd Street flyover project is about halfway complete.
That was a big topic at the First Friday meeting for the Bay County Chamber of Commerce.
Florida Department of Transportation officials say the entire project is on track to be finished by fall 2019.
There will be lots of noise and action in the coming weeks, as construction includes setting steel-tub girder beams in place.
We're told traffic will be minimally impacted, as they aim to do much of the construction in the evening hours.
At this time they are waiting for AT&T to move a major communications cable before they can complete setting the tall pilings that make up the foundation for the approach ways.
