Niki Kelly, the Executive Director of Girls Inc. of Bay County, said, "Tonight [Saturday] is really about making memories, it's for all little girls and their special prince, it's a time to get out and dance and have fun and have a good time."

The event, put on by Girls Inc., is a special daddy-daughter, or father-figure, dance filled with real-life princesses.

Payton Thayer, a volunteer princess for the event, said, "At a young age you really need someone to look after you and build that bond, and I think this dance and to be able to dance with your child and spend time with them all night, I think it's a really close, tight bond."

Girls donned ball gowns and crowns, ready for a night they'll never forget.

Ben Lee, a dad there with his daughter, said, "It's so special, and this is just a time that we look forward to spending together, and it's really fun."

Girls Inc. workers says they hope the event brings joy to everyone involved.

"Tonight [Saturday] is just one of those times in our community when all sorts of people get the opportunity to come together and just relax and have a good time, it's one of those real good, positive moments in a time when there seems to be not so much happiness going around. Tonight's a happy time, it's a happy place to be."

Everyone made it home before midnight, without turning into a pumpkin.

All proceeds from the event go towards girls inc.'s after-school program.
