Fourth case of West Nile Virus confirmed in Bay County

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Florida Department of Health has confirmed a fourth case of West Nile Virus in Bay County.

Health officials want to remind everyone to take the necessary precautions to avoid a bite.

If there is any standing water around your home make sure to drain it. This will help you avoid any mosquitoes from hatching in your yard.

Cover any exposed skin with light and loose clothing.

Insect repellent will also help avoid unwanted attention from mosquitoes.

The Florida Department of Health will continue to monitor the situation.
