NORTHWEST FLORIDA, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Governor Ron DeSantis is asking the Florida Department of Transportation to extend its deadline for debris removal.
According to a news release, the governor is asking FDOT to further extend the deadline to continue to ensure residents get help getting rid of debris.
The final debris pass will begin by May 1, 2019. The original deadline was April 15.
The extension is expected to reduce fire risks.
