OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Florida Department of Health in Okaloosa County has issued a health advisory for are analyzed for the beaches in Garniers Park of Fort Walton Beach and Rocky Bayou State Park of Niceville.
The health advisories are based on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s recommended standards for enterococci.
Enteric bacteria normally inhabits the intestinal tract of humans and animals.
The health department says it may cause human disease, infections, or rashes.
Health officials say it should be considered a potential health risk to the bathing public.
