At the Panama City Center for the Arts, families dressed up as "heroes and sidekicks" for a day of art and meeting characters from children's movies and games.

One of the event organizers says the event is a way to get more kids interested in art.

"They can have fun with it and draw their favorite characters, and that's how I got into art, was through comic books," said Jayson Kretzer, Programming Director for Bay Arts Alliance

Cosplayers, or people dressed as characters, also went to the event to add some extra excitement for the kids.
