Jacket drive expands to help more school districts

A local jacket drive is expanding to help more kids in need after Hurricane Michael in time for the holidays.

"The Jacket Drive for FL Panhandle Kids" is running an online jacket drive. Donors can buy a jacket and local school systems will give it to a child in need.

You can find the online store here.

Brilliant Tees, LLC is hosting the jacket drive webstore.

Thousands of kids are in need in Bay County alone and now the drive is expanding to help those in Calhoun, Gulf, Franklin, Jackson and Liberty counties.

The community has purchased 11,000 jackets so far. The drive's new goal is 20,000.

The drive launched November 10th. Project Rebuild BDS, which is located at the Young Warehouse in Panama City, distributes jackets to Bay District Schools and five neighboring districts.
