Jackson County hires contractor for right-of-way mowing

The hire was made after the previous contract was terminated due to failure to complete the work.

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - After nearly a year without consistent mowing across county right-of-ways,
the Jackson County Board of County Commissioners has hired a new contractor to get the work done within 90 days.

A special board meeting occurred Friday, where K&W Mowing was hired on an emergency basis to complete a full mowing cycle. The contract originally belonged to Southern Lawn and Land Maintenence, but was terminated due to "a continued inability to accomplish services dictated in the contract."

Expectations are for the mowing to begin within the next week.
