40 elementary students from Wewahitchka and 40 from Port St. Joe had the opportunity to shop around Kohls for outfits, pajamas, jackets, shoes, or anything they may need.

The students were joined by more than 25 volunteers, who acted as mentors, shopping alongside the boys and girls.

The shopping trip is funded through three major events throughout the year.

"We've had so many kids say 'thank you so much for bringing us shopping, this is our first time to come shopping, this is the only time we're getting clothes,'" Ashton Lovejoy said, who is the chairman of the shopping trip. "And the kids are so grateful. They're just so loving and so thankful. They love being a part of the experience, they love being able to pick out the clothes themselves."

Kohls opened two hours early and brought in employees just for the event.
