LIBERTY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Veterans in Liberty County were honored by local students Friday.
Students from several schools came together for a Veterans Day program.
The event included several musical numbers.
Following Hurricane Michael, many flag poles were blown over.
Sheriff Eddie Joe White asked the public to decorate used wooden pallets in red, white, and blue.
"It's our veterans that we're here to commend, their service to our country, and we're showing them that we're imparting on our children the importance of supporting our veterans and being patriotic and they're going to give these away to the veterans that are here today," Sheriff White said.
Following the ceremony, veterans were treated to a meal funded by the school board.
