PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Business is hard for those who rely on big events to bring in big bucks.

But one local food truck owner and chef isn’t letting slow business bring down his morale.

Guillermo Dovalina owns Dovalina’s Wood Fire Pizza Truck and has been in business for six years.

Now with COVID-19 precautions in place, he knows he’s not the only one with a struggling business, but that’s not stopping him from making pizza.

He says he still has ingredients that need to be eaten. So now, he’s giving away pizza to those who are risking their health at Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center to save local lives.

"Every party I do, I always have cheese leftover or whatnot leftover, so I said this cheese is not gonna last another two months obviously, so what can I do besides waste it? I said let me give it away to you know the nurses and techs here that are working tirelessly. I can make them a nice pizza, I can slice it for them, I'm a one-man show,” said Dovalina.

He says he's given about 60-70 pizzas to medical staff at the hospital.
