Local organization holds free legal clinic for storm victims

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Many Hurricane Michael victims are having a tough time paying for repairs to their home after Hurricane Michael, which is why one local organization is trying to help those with debt problems related to the storm.

At the Northern District Of Florida Bankruptcy Bar Association's Free Legal Clinic, people were able to work with lawyers to review their payments for recovery efforts, to find ways to save money or take legal action if necessary.

"The effects of the storm did not stop on October 10," said Michael Wynn with the Northern District Of Florida Bankruptcy Bar Association. "They've continued for the last 10 months and they'll keep continuing, people need to know there's a chance to have some relief and deal with the financial hardships are coming and all we're doing is answering some questions."
