LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Lynn Haven lit up with Christmas spirit Tuesday for its annual Christmas tree lighting event.
The 35 feet tall Christmas tree is very important to Lynn Haven says Mayor Margo Anderson. (WJHG/WECP)
The event was held at 5:30 p.m. at Sharon Sheffield Park while hot chocolate was served and people sang on stage. Local vendors were there selling food and drinks for the community.
Part of the event was celebrating how far the community has come in the last year, and the 35-foot-tall tree was a major part of that.
"We had decided last year, a few days after the storm, that we would cancel the order on this tree just because of the budget and trying to save money, and two days after we canceled it the tree showed up and couldn't be sent back, so we call it our miracle tree and it was so dark last year and the tree just lit up the entire city," said Lynn Haven's Mayor Margo Anderson.
Mayor Anderson went on to say she couldn't be more grateful to see how the community continues to come together.
