OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The man accused of killing a 17-year-old girl has entered a plea in Okaloosa County courts.

Wednesday, Kevin Manuel Ordonez-Garcia pleaded guilty to second degree murder with a weapon.

In November 2018, Garcia killed his ex-girlfriend, Ana Gabrila Espinal-Lainez, who was the mother of their one-year-old child. Lainez was 17 at the time she was murdered.

Evidence shows Lainez came to Garcia's home for money and supplies for the care of their child, and an argument began. Garcia grabbed Lainez by the hair and stabbed her multiple times with a steak knife.

Okaloosa County Sheriff's Deputies found the knife in a nearby dumpster. They also found Garcia in the area with blood on his pants and shoes.

Garcia will be sentenced in April. He faces up to life in prison.
