DESTIN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Joshua Turner, 46, after they say he provided false identification of a man with an active warrant.

Deputies say they found Turner near a bank in Destin passed out when doing a welfare check.

Turner provided an identification card, social security card and other IDs with the name of Patrick Pearson, according to deputies. Deputies say Patrick Pearson has an active warrant for theft, so they arrested Turner.

Deputies say that Turner spat in the eyes of a detention deputy during processing. Deputies say they also discovered Turner had given them a false name.

Turner is charged with battery of a law enforcement officer, knowingly displaying the identification card of another person - a felony, and providing a false name while detained.
