OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Okaloosa County Sheriff's deputies arrested a suspect Wednesday, in the non-fatal stabbing of a 23-year-old.

Billy Jack Keene, 41, is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after authorities say he stabbed a 23-year-old man near Crestview on Friday.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff's office says the victim went to pick up his friend from a residence on Chambrey Road when Keene opened the door instead and started a verbal altercation.

They say the victim turned to walk away and then Keene grabbed him from behind and stabbed him in the back.

Another friend of the victim was waiting nearby in his car and took him to North Okaloosa Medical Center for treatment.
