PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Authorities say they believe they've arrested a man who is connected to numerous burglaries across Bay County.

Bay County Sheriff's Deputies arrested David Nelms, Jr., on July 4th. They say an investigator caught him attempting to burglarize a pharmacy for a second time.

In March, the Bay County Sheriff's Office, Panama City Police Department, and the Parker Police Department began investigating about 20 burglaries at different businesses in Bay County. They say the suspect targeted pharmacies, but general businesses were also hit.

Investigators say they learned the suspect was a black man driving a specific vehicle. On July 4th, an investigator saw that vehicle at a pharmacy on 23rd Street in the early morning hours. They say Nelms was the only person in the vehicle.

Deputies say Nelms admitted he was involved in a burglary on Panama City Beach that had been reported to the Bay County Sheriff's Office and two other business burglaries reported to the Panama City Police Department.

Nelms has been charged with eight counts of burglary of a business and two counts of grand theft by the Bay County Sheriff's Office. The Panama City Police Department and Parker Police Department have both charged Nelms with numerous counts of burglary and grand theft. Additional charges are pending.
